Does SpecBuild work offline?
Yes — once the first-launch update check completes, every feature (Forge, Trace, Strategy, Catalog) runs entirely offline. You only need the network again the next time the app launches, so it can check for a mandatory patch.
Which iOS version do I need?
SpecBuild requires iOS 17.6 or later. The app is universal — iPhone and iPad, portrait and landscape.
Where are my setups saved? Will I lose them if I reinstall?
Setups, strategies, and telemetry runs are stored inside the app's sandbox on your device. Deleting the app removes them. Enabling iCloud Backup in iOS Settings will include SpecBuild's data in Apple's encrypted backup.
How do I turn off push notifications?
iOS Settings → SpecBuild → Notifications → Allow Notifications (off). The app will still work — you just won't get release-note pushes or patch announcements.
The app is asking me to update — is it required?
There are two states. "Update Available" is optional — tap Continue to keep racing. "Mandatory patch" opens a full-screen update flow because a critical bug was fixed; you'll need to complete that before using the app.
Does SpecBuild collect my driving data?
No. Your telemetry and setups never leave the device. See the
privacy policy for the full list of what is and isn't transmitted.
Can I export a setup to share with a teammate?
Setup export is rolling out through the Setup Library. Forks you make from the catalog can be renamed and saved; richer export (iMessage / AirDrop) is tracked on the roadmap — mail us to vote.
